Hi all!! Happy Tuesday!! Today we are talking about an area of the home that we all go into multiple times a day -- the bathroom. This is an area of the home that if organized has the potential to save us the most money (along with pantry organization). If we don’t know where things are and think we ran out of it, we purchase more. Then you somehow end up with 10 of the same thing! It is important to keep our bathrooms nice and organized so we know what we have each day when we are getting ready or looking for something to save that extra money.
The first step in bathroom organization is to pull everything out. Empty all drawers, cabinets and countertops. As you are taking everything out, notice if products are expired or things like clips are broken, hair ties stretched out, etc. and toss them all in the trash.
As you are pulling the items out, sort into daily use, occasional use and reserve items. Once you have all your items sorted and out of the space, use this as an opportunity to deep clean!!
Next you want to plan, measure and purchase. Plan your daily used items in an easy to access place. You want these items to stay together, be super easy to find and be located in the “prime real estate” of your bathroom. The occasionally used items should still be accessible, but they should remain out of the way of your daily items. Lastly, reserve items can be located in a more ‘out of the way’ spot in your bathroom or maybe in a closet you use for storage. Once you have it all planned out of where your items will go, take the time to decide if you need any bins or other storage items and measure the space. It is really important to measure beforehand so you eliminate frequent trips to the store for returns and exchanges. Once you have your measurements, time to go shopping!! Some of my favorite products to organize bathrooms are listed here!
Last but certainly not least, label label label. It is important to label all three categories, but especially the occasional and reserve to make these items really easy to find when you’re looking to restock your bathroom essentials.
There ya have it!! Super simple steps to organizing your bathroom. If you want to see before and afters of my bathroom organization, join in on our Spring Cleaning Organizing Challenge!
