Hello, organizers! We’ve had a lot of new faces so if you’re new, welcome! At the end of each month I like to do a recap of my month. I think it’s fun to share what’s going on in my life, so you get a chance to get to know the face behind the “Optimal Organization” name!!
I'm not sure I can pinpoint an exact time, but recently I've noticed I make a conscious effort to look on the positive side for any situation I'm in. For example, it would be very easy to be upset and angry about the following recent events:
Naturally, these are valid things to get a person angry, at the very least worked up about. While I’ve had my moments, I have chosen to remain optimistic. And people around me have noticed!! What a great feeling for being associated with a positive attitude. So, instead of getting angry, this is how I’m rewriting the story and choosing optimism:
Bottom line, being angry, upset, frustrated, etc. takes energy. I’d much rather use that energy to go towards making my dreams come true and create my own reality. Again, I’m not saying I haven’t had my moments or that you shouldn’t express your feelings, quite the opposite. Feel these emotions, let them out and don’t bottle them up (that’s unhealthy), but just be aware of the duration. Are you entertaining these negative emotions because you truly feel them and still have some to get out of your system or because you feel like you should still be *insert negative emotion* because you don’t want to let it go in fear that it’ll invalidate your feelings.
Well let me tell you friends, it’s just not worth it. Stay in tune with what you need, but ultimately life is so much more enjoyable when you choose happy! I can’t speak to people to suffer from real mental health problems which makes it harder (or impossible) for them to actively choose happy, but if you’re just having your own pity party for the heck of it? Snap out of it, friend!! You have way too much to offer this world and you are too valuable to not live up to your full potential and share your gifts with the world!! Rachel Hollis says it best in this YouTube video. Go watch it right now. It's all about pushing through hard moments. Seriously, go watch it right now!! You won't regret it! One of the suggestions she gives is to have a song that no matter what will turn your day around. I have a whole Spotify playlist that makes my dancing pants come on, but the #1 song no matter what will get me in a good mood is Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader.
I play this song daily. I play it when I’m getting in the zone to work and I need a little dance party before I focus, and also when I’m in a funky mood and I just need something to lighten the mood and lift my spirits. It totally works so I suggest finding your “I’ll get up and dance no matter what to turn my mood around” song.
So, my friends, despite the opportunities I’ve had to get mad this month, May has been pretty good to me, my family and Optimal Organization and I owe it all to my shift in my mindset. Let me end with this:
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, friends!
Until next time.
Hugs & love,
