If you’re just tuning in, welcome!! Like I mentioned in Organized Backpacking- Part 1, I am a beginner and newbie to backpacking. My husband deserves most if not all credit (maybe split with my mother-in-law 😊) for ensuring I am prepared and comfortable in all our adventures. This is so important in having a positive experience. Having the right gear is the make or break thing for backpacking. That being said, there are good substitutes for the items I have, but I’m sharing the items that have made my experiences top notch 😊
The purpose of this week’s blog is to make sure that you’re prepared and organized throughout your trip.
Something to consider – getting more durable equipment may seem like a lot of money up front, but you’re making an investment. If you get good quality right away, it should last you a long time making it pay off. That being said, there are a ton of websites that offer discounts and deals! My personal favorite-- Steep&Cheap.
Also, one last thing. I must add this in because it is so important, but please respect the outdoors and make sure to clean up after yourself. As you pack up camp in the mornings just do a once around your site to make sure you got everything. Bringing an extra plastic bag for any waste is always a good idea. Keep our parks clean!
That’s it! These are the items that got me through a 2 day, 14-mile backpacking adventure. Having it all grouped and laid out helps a ton in making sure I’m not forgetting anything. The worst is not being organized in packing and you end up forgetting something. I’d love to hear any tips you guys have or other items you bring on your camping/backpacking adventures! Comment below! Happy Adventuring and as always happy organizing 😊
